Stay Present

On today, the first headline is, “Fed sees economy sinking deeper into rut.” Gee, what an inspiring start, middle, or finish to your day to see something like that. What? Do they have a crystal ball that confirms this? It’s a challenge to stay positive, present, and focused on all the abundance in your life when you come across headlines or comments like this one.

On my monthly, Envision Your Way to Success Tele-Class call, we focused on prosperity to help each of us come up with powerful visual images to use to keep us from generating a spiraling out-of-control series of negative visualizations (worries) about all that could happen to our bank accounts, income streams, or jobs in the coming months. For example, an image of yourself surrounded by thousands of $100 bills is a fun way to stop negative images in their tracks.

See yourself surrounded by all of the money you desire. Imagine it flowing to you and moving on to others, as you purchase goods and services, or make donations.

While preparing for the tele-class, I picked up my copy of Maria Nemeth’s excellent book, The Energy of Money , to look for some inspiring ideas to share with participants. Even though I believe there are no accidents, I’m still amazed that I found a quote so compelling. It has helped me in moments of fear about investments I’m making in myself and my business. Participants have commented on how much it has helped them as well.

Dr. Nemeth offers many words of wisdom herself, but this quote comes from Hellen Mellicost. I found it on the internet in a few places, but would love to know more about the author. May these words guide you and bring you peace when fears about the future come up for you:

I was regretting the past and fearing the future. Suddenly God was speaking. “My name is I AM.” I waited. God continued, “I am not there. My name is not ‘I was.’ When you live in the future, with its problems and fears, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not ‘I will be.’ When you live in this moment, it is not hard. I am here. My name is ‘I AM.’” –Hellen Mellicost, One Hundred Gates (found on page 287 of The Energy of Money, by Maria Nemeth, Ph.D.)

At any given moment, you have all that you need and likely have an abundance of warm shelter, good food, beautiful clothes, loving friends and family, and good health. Even if you’re a bit “low” on one or two of these, my guess is that you have much thankful for, especially your safety, in any given moment. Like me, even though you know this you might lose sight of it when you jump to imagining worst case scenarios. And, the media tends to love to help us do just that with headlines like, “Economy expected to get worse.”

The next time you jump into fear mode, take a deep breath, remember ‘I AM” and remind yourself that life is good in this very moment, and this moment is all that matters right now. Who cares what the Fed thinks. You’re in charge of your economy and your abundance. So, turn your attention to a visualization that inspires you to stay focused on receiving prosperity. May your vision of abundance come to you at just the right time (and may you and the Universe agree on what “the right time” is!).

Finally, if you live in Austin, I’d love to have you join me at my luncheon workshop, Envision Your Life Your Way, on Thursday, November 6th. It’s a great way to get back in the habit of creating positive visualizations, especially inspiring images of what you want to manifest in 2009. I hope to see you then.
